SACRAMENTO – Senator Ted Gaines (R-Roseville) today issued the following statement regarding Governor Brown’s recently announced tax increase plan.
“The tax extensions of 2009 were rejected in every single county in the state. I can’t think of a clearer message to Governor Brown that the people do not want more money taken out of their pockets to fuel chronic, irresponsible overspending in Sacramento.
Stop spending money we don’t have and lower taxes so we can start creating jobs in California. That is the simple path Governor Brown should follow.
Instead, he is dumping this loser of a tax plan onto Californians’ laps when unemployment is still nearly 12 percent. Fed up voters will thoroughly reject it if miraculously makes its way to the ballot.”
Senator Ted Gaines represents the 1st Senate District, which includes all or parts of Alpine, Amador, Calaveras, El Dorado, Lassen, Modoc, Mono, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento and Sierra counties.
