Vigilant Resident Aids Deputies in Capturing a Fugitive from Utah

The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office received an emergency call from a resident in the 1300 block of Del Monte Lane at approximately 3:50 AM. The resident reported that a suspicious male subject was at their front door yelling that he had been attacked and demanded entry into the residence. The alert resident did not open their door, instead told the male that they had called 911. At that point, the male wandered off towards the rear of the residence. This initiated the response from the Sheriff’s Office.

Upon arrival, deputies established a perimeter around the general area of the neighborhood, which included Anderson Park. Deputies got a visual of the person and began giving the male verbal instructions but he did not comply. The male began running through a pasture towards Anderson Park. Deputies gave chase and eventually captured the male, who attempted to hide near a horse barn.

The male, identified as Gregory Evans age 30, was arrested for Trespassing, Obstructing a Peace Officer and Possession of Methamphetamine. Gregory was also found to have Fugitive from Justice Felony warrants out of Utah for Dealing in Materials Harmful to a Minor and Violation of Protective Order. Gregory’s bail has been set at $11,835.
