Vehicle and Body of Missing Woman Discovered

Minden, NV…On Monday, November 14th, 2011, Investigators from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office located a single vehicle 90 feet down the side of an embankment near the old power dam on the East Fork of the Carson River, in Gardnerville.

The vehicle matched the description of a vehicle driven by a 56 year-old Patricia Loraine Bosch of Gardnerville. Bosch was reported missing by family members on Friday, November 11th, 2011.

Bosch was last seen on Wednesday, November 2nd, 2011, when she left her home in Bodie Flats, South Gardnerville, to drive to the FISH Thrift store in Carson City. Bosch was driving a green 1986 Ford truck with a white camper shell.

A decedent was discovered inside the vehicle, however due to extensive crushing damage on the vehicle and inverted positioning of the vehicle when it came to rest, the body could not be removed or fully observed; therefore identity of the decedent is unknown. However, based upon the description of the vehicle and the recent missing person circumstances, it is suspected the body is that of Patricia Bosch.

It appears the vehicle had been travelling on a dirt roadway above the ravine when loose dirt along the edge of the roadway gave way, causing the vehicle to roll over and continue rolling down the steep ravine. Due to the inaccessible area where the vehicle came to rest, the vehicle could not be extricated before dark.

DCSO personnel are remaining on scene throughout the night, and investigators will continue extrication work in the morning. It is anticipated a bulldozer will be required to cut a path to the vehicle in order for vehicle wrecker crews to upright the vehicle. Extrication of the decedent will occur thereafter.
