Diamond Peak Ski Resort is Making Snow

Incline Village, NV- With the temperatures dropping, 4-6 inches of new snow on the ground and more in the forecast, Diamond Peak Ski Resort getting ready for the 2011/12 ski and snowboard season. The snow guns first fired up on October 27th and will continue to make snow as temperatures allow. “This season is setting up to be another great year,” said Brad Wilson, Diamond Peak’s new General Manager.

Diamond Peak was the first ski resort in the West to have snowmaking. It has come a long way since opening in 1966. In 2002 Diamond Peak expanded and improved the snowmaking system to allow snowmaking capabilities on 75% of resort’s developed terrain. In 2009 they invested in rebuilding their snowmaking system to not only save energy and fuel costs, but also increase the quality of snow produced.
