At its 2011 annual conference in Churchill County last week, the Nevada Association of Counties (NACO) announced the recipients of its Legislator of the Year Award, Participatory Democracy Award and inductee into NACO’s Honor Roll.

Washoe County Manager Katy Simon was inducted into NACO’s Honor Roll, which recognizes individuals for their special achievement in and service to county government.

To receive this award, a person must exhibit honor, integrity, and meet the highest ethical standards for public service. Simon was recognized for her “leadership in guiding Washoe County and her willingness to assist other local governments and the State of Nevada during unprecedented economic times.”
