At this time, no new information can be released without compromising the investigation. Sparks Police Department personnel are continuing to conduct follow-up interviews with responding officers from local law enforcement agencies and additional witnesses from inside of John Ascuaga’s Nugget. Video footage from the Nugget will not be released at this time and personnel are still viewing additional camera angles to identify persons of interest and/or witnesses.

The victim of the secondary shooting Saturday morning has been identified as Shane Smith, DOB 04-30-71 a California resident. Smith is a member of the Vagos Motorcycle Club. The two incidents still have not been definitively linked to each other.

Updated suspect vehicle description for the shooter’s vehicles is now a Dark Blue BMW 3 series sedan without tinted windows. This information was gained through follow-up interviews with witnesses.
