Board Chairman Weygandt To Address Rural Lincoln Advisory Group

Chairman Robert M. Weygandt of the Placer County Board of Supervisors will give a state-of-the-county address at a meeting of the Rural Lincoln Municipal Advisory Council on Mon., Aug. 15.

The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. in Mount Pleasant Hall, 3333 Mt. Pleasant Road, in Lincoln.

In his address, Chairman Weygandt will update the public on such issues as the county budget, services, capital projects, economic development efforts, the Placer Legacy open space program and proposed Placer County Conservation Plan. He also will leave time to answer questions from the public.

Chairman Weygandt is serving his 5th four-year term on the Board of Supervisors. He represents the 2nd District, which includes Lincoln, Sheridan, part of Rocklin and part of western Roseville.

During the meeting, advisory council members also will hear a presentation about an upcoming event called the Content Creation and Distribution Expo that will be held Sept. 16-17 in Loomis.

Organizers describe the expo as a new type of hybrid trade show, festival and conference. Its target audience is primarily film makers, aspiring musicians, production companies, manufacturers, public relations companies, advertising agencies, web designers and others interested in new technologies that make creating content easier, faster and less expensive for distribution via hand-held devices, home computers, television and digital theaters.

The expo will showcase major companies that are industry leaders, as well as Placer County businesses, entrepreneurs, artists and manufacturers.

They are charged with gathering public comment on a range of topics, including land use, public works, recreation, law enforcement and public health and safety.

The Rural Lincoln MAC normally meets at 7 p.m. on the third Monday of each month at Mount Pleasant Hall.
