The Placer County Fish and Game Commission is soliciting grant proposals from non-profit organizations, schools, or other individuals or organizations. To be eligible, an organization has to use the money for education, environmental or habitat improvement, or enforcement activities. The use of these monies must be related to Placer County’s fish and wildlife. The maximum award amount of any single grant is $1,000.
Grants are available for projects consistent with the intent of California Fish and Game Code, Section 13103. The deadline to submit grant applications is October 1, 2011. The grants are not perpetual; applicants must reapply for grant monies each year.
The Placer County Fish and Game Commission consists of seven members appointed by the Board of Supervisors. The Commission serves as an advisory entity to the Board and coordinates efforts in habitat restoration, public awareness and natural resource education.
