Tahoe Keys Marina, South Lake Tahoe, CA..The 2011 boat show will feature 70 unique antique and classic boats with White Smoke, a fully restored 1930, 30 foot Sea Lyon as our poster boat. White Smoke was ordered in 1930 by George A. Pope Sr. for his family to enjoy at their 38 acre summer hideaway at South Lake Tahoe. This beautiful boat “harkens to an era of subdued opulence, when Tahoe was a retreat where the world’s cares were forbidden to encroach.” A generous gift to the Tahoe Maritime Museum in Homewood by Howard and Judy Guild, she will be on display at the show for you to slip back to the ’30’s in your minds eye.

On land there will be several ’60’s drag boats and a beautiful little kit boat being built by Tahoe City’s Boy Scout Troop #266 as a project led by the Antique and Classic Boat Society Northern CA/Lake Tahoe Chapter. We will turn over the engines of some of the antique and classic boats and hear the roar of the amazing drag boat engines.

Under the umbrellas at the Marina, you can taste Korbel California Champagnes & Pacifico beer, have a BBQ lunch & enjoy the day as you stroll through sponsor and charities booths. Buy a memory of the day in the Antique & Classic Boat Society’s Ships Store before or after you walk down the docks to see our wooden treasures and classic fiberglass boats.
