A View From Above Lake Tahoe On Independence Day.

Lake Tahoe, CA/NV…We we along with a thousand or so other people decided to visit the Hwy 431 Vista Point to watch the fireworks on the lake on July 4th. It was a great choice because not only did we have a birds eye view of the great show from Incline Beach we also were able to enjoy the South Lake Tahoe / Stateline Show and the Tahoe City Show.

The view from above was a memorable site. You could see the flotilla’s of boats with their running lights aglow watching from the lake, Reflections of the fireworks on the water and the glowing clouds left behind by the “Bombs Bursting in Air” as Francis Scott Key once wrote.

Standing along the road and listing to the oohs and ahs of the crowd when each show hit a high point was a great reminder of what a special place Lake Tahoe is as the nation celebrates it’s birthday each year. At one point we counted 4 seperate fireworks shows clearly visible.

So as you make plans to attend next year if you might want to check out the shows from a little higher perspective if you want to escape the masses that are closer to the shows. Thank You Lake Tahoe and the organizing groups that make Lake Tahoe what it is…
