Gardnerville, NV…The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office reports that the 2011 Carson Valley Days Friday Night celebration in downtown Gardnerville was well attended and relatively peaceful.

The celebratory crowd seemed no larger than in past years, and the warm weather made for a nice evening.

U.S. Hwy 395 did not have to be closed for the event due to policing by DCSO deputies and the cooperation of celebrants in remaining out of the roadway during the festivities.

DCSO deputies provided several rides home for celebrants who were too intoxicated to drive.

Seven persons were arrested during the event for charges of: Battery, Disorderly Conduct, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Minor Consuming Alcohol, Civil Protective Custody and Alternative Sentencing Violations.

The various public safety and support agencies involved in this event worked extremely well together. Sheriff Ron Pierini extends his gratitude to the men and women of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, East Fork Fire and Paramedic District, Douglas County Communications Center, and 20/30 club for ensuring the event remained safe for all attendees.

Sheriff Pierini also wishes to extend his appreciation to the citizens of Douglas County for their cooperation with the road closure of US Hwy 395 through town on Saturday morning, to accommodate the annual Carson Valley Days Parade.
