Sunday, May 29, an off-duty Placer County Sheriff’s sergeant was involved in the shooting of a suspected burglar in the city of Roseville. The Roseville Police Department is investigating the shooting. The Sheriff’s Office is prevented from making further comment due to personnel laws.

According to standard countywide protocol for an officer-involved shooting, the Placer County District Attorney’s Office will monitor the investigation. When completed, the case will be submitted to the District Attorney’s Office for their review.
