Reno, NV – The Community Kick Off event for Nevada Wildfire Awareness Week will be held at Galena High School on Saturday, April 30th 10a.m. to 2p.m. Bring the family and talk with local firefighters, visit with vendors, listen to presentations by local dignitaries and firefighting representatives. Children can enjoy the Fire Safety House and explore helicopters and fire engines. Smokey the Bear will be there too! Food will be available for purchase and there will be a free raffle drawing. The North Lake Tahoe Fire Protection District will be partaking in this event and we hope to see you there.
The purpose of Nevada Wildfire Awareness Week is to increase understanding and awareness of Nevada’s wildfire issues and to promote actions that reduce the wildfire threat.
