New2U Computers in partnership with Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful, KTVN Channel 2 News and Sims Recycling Solutions/Sims Metals Management are joining together with many community sponsors for the Community e-Waste Recycling Event on Saturday, April 23, 2011 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the old Park Lane Mall site. Sponsors for the event include The City of Reno, Washoe County, Whole Foods Market, Reno News & Review, Lotus Radio Corp, and Castaway Trash Hauling.
Disposal of electronics is FREE with a $10 donation per vehicle. Vouchers can be purchased in advance for $10 from New2U Computers and Whole Foods Market, or on the day of the event for $15 per vehicle. The fees obtained will cover the cost of proper electronic recycling. All donations are tax deductible and a receipt will be provided. New2U Computers follows Department of Defense regulations and will provide a certificate of data destruction upon request.
Items to be collected include TV’s, computers, laptops, monitors, keyboards, cords/cables, speakers, power supplies, printers, DVD players, and cell phones. Metal items include washers, dryers, refrigerators, metal shelving and car parts.
