Future of Washoe County’s North Valleys Regional Park topic of public input survey and meeting

Washoe County’s Department of Regional Parks and Open Space is seeking public feedback about the future development of the North Valleys Regional Park, including preferred use of the $5.2 million remaining proceeds from the sale of water rights at Sierra Sage Golf Course.

The public is asked to provide comment to an online survey available at www.washoecountyparks.com from Monday, April 18 through Friday, April 29, 2011.

Comments collected from the surveys and additional input will be discussed during a public planning workshop at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 3, in the North Valleys Regional Park’s Community Building.

“This is an important opportunity to have a voice in planning for the future of a critical community recreational facility,” Washoe County Regional Parks and Open Space Director Doug Doolittle said. “We urge everyone to make sure you have a chance to be heard by providing us with input.”
