Incline Village, NV.—The Championship Course at Incline Village has been named one of the “100 Best Golf Shops in America” for 2011 by Golf World magazine. This marks the second time in four years the Championship Course golf shop has been listed in this prestigious group of golf shops from across the country
Golf World has published its selection of the “100 Best Golf Shops” for 26 years. The list is a collection of private, resort, public and off-course shops that have excelled in retail operations. Those selected to the list were judged by the Association of Golf Merchandisers and GW senior editor E. Michael Johnson. The “100 Best Golf Shops” consists of 25 shops in each of the four categories.
To be considered for the annual list, golf shops must submit entries to Golf World magazine. Shops are chosen based on three criteria, each weighted equally;
• Revenue per square foot and per round of golf played compared with shops in the same category.
• Appearance of layout and product displays (determined through photos submitted to the magazine).
• Evaluation of a shop’s successful promotions and recent initiatives within the last year (described through a set of written responses).
The golf shops selected ranged in size from a few hundred to more than 20,000 square feet. Each excelled at offering fresh merchandise, sound advice, creating inviting displays and providing service that kept the customer coming back.
John Nosek, retail manager says, “This award recognizes our customer’s commitment and support as well as our staff’s dedication to creating a total golf experience. It is an honor to be listed on the same pages as the other 99 Best Golf Shops who are the who’s who of the golfing retail market.”
