Minden, NV…The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying two suspects involved in a strongarm robbery that took place on Thursday, March 24th, 2011, at approximately 3:30 pm, in the Wal-Mart parking lot, off Topsy Lane in north Douglas County.
In the incident, a Hispanic female forcibly stole a small black case suspended by a breakaway lanyard from around the victim’s neck as the victim was walking to her car in the parking lot.
The case was a self-contained blood sugar meter that was also used as a wallet by the victim. Carried inside the case were the victim’s driver’s license, credit cards, and an undisclosed amount of currency.
After forcibly stealing the case from the victim, the suspect ran to a vehicle that had been following behind the victim at the time of the robbery. The driver of the vehicle then sped off. The vehicle is described as a white-colored Jeep Cherokee with unknown paper license plates. The vehicle was driven by a male in his early 20’s with medium length brown hair and a beard.
The female suspect is described as:
Hispanic, early 20’s in age, long length light-brown hair with blond highlights, wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans.
The male suspect is described as:
Light-skinned Hispanic or dark-skinned Caucasian, early 20’s in age, medium length brown hair, with a dark scruffy beard.
Surveillance video of the male was later discovered at Wal-Mart. The male can be seen wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, grey t-shirt, and dark colored pants. A picture of the male suspect is included with this release for reference.
A reward of up to $200.00 is being offered to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect(s). Your identity is not needed, and you will remain ANONYMOUS.
