HELP MAKE LIBRARY WISHES COME TRUE

Would you like to help the library offer the most popular books? Now there’s a way to do just that – through the Amazon Wish List!

Due to the ongoing budget cuts affecting Washoe County Library System, the number of books ordered from operating funds next year will again be lower than in previous years. But you can help by purchasing a book through Amazon Wish List. The donations will help the library build its collection and make more copies available to check out.

Here’s how the process works. Just go on the library website, www.washoecountylibrary.us, and click on the link to Amazon Wish List. You’ll see a list of titles that the library needs. Make your selection, purchase the book through Amazon, and your book will be sent directly to the library. Of course, you may purchase as many books as you like.

Alternatively, you can go to Amazon.com, click on Gifts and Wish Lists and search for Washoe County Library. From there, the process is the same as above.

A personalized bookplate will be placed in the book acknowledging your donation. It can also indicate a donation in honor or in memory of someone. All donations are tax-deductible.

“This is a great way to help your library,” said WCLS Director Arnie Maurins. “It’s easy and fun to use – in fact, it’s like a wedding registry. There’s a variety of books to choose from, including hardbacks, paperbacks and youth titles.”

Maurins added that the Amazon Wish List is one of many ways in which you can help the library. “The public can always donate books and other items to the library and to Friends of Washoe County Library. We very much appreciate our patrons’ generous support of our libraries, especially during these challenging times.”
