The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Detectives Division is investigating a homicide in Verdi, which was reported in the late evening hours of Tuesday, March 22nd. At approximately 10:39 PM, Washoe County Dispatch received a 911 domestic disturbance call from a residence in the 600 block of Canal Street. The reporting party advised that the dispute was between him and his roommate. Deputies were immediately dispatched to the home. Upon arrival, Deputies made contact with the reporting party who identified himself as Walter Bulkeley. Walter told Deputies his roommate was inside the residence. Deputies responded to the front door and observed a White male adult lying on the floor unresponsive, with an apparent gunshot wound. The White male adult was pronounced deceased at the scene. Detectives were notified and arrived shortly to continue investigating. Detectives interviewed Walter and subsequently placed him under arrest for Open Murder. Walter was transported and booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility, where he is being held without bail.
