Friday: Snow, mainly after 11am. High near 42. Breezy, with a south wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to between 20 and 25 mph. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Friday Night: Snow. Low around 24. Breezy, with a south wind between 15 and 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 6 to 10 inches possible.

Saturday: Snow showers likely. Cloudy, with a high near 34. Southwest wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Saturday Night: A 40 percent chance of snow showers. Cloudy, with a low around 18. South wind between 5 and 10 mph. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW AND GUSTY WINDS…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM
5 PM FRIDAY TO 8 AM PDT SATURDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO
LONGER IN EFFECT.

* TIMING: SNOW WILL MOVE INTO THE TAHOE BASIN FRIDAY AFTERNOON
AND BECOME HEAVY FRIDAY EVENING THROUGH FRIDAY NIGHT. SNOWFALL
RATES OF 2 OR MORE INCHES PER HOUR ARE POSSIBLE ALONG THE FRONT.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 1 TO 2 FEET ABOVE 7000 FEET…AND 8 TO 14
INCHES AT LAKE LEVEL. HIGHEST AMOUNTS ON THE WEST SHORE AND NEAR
THE SIERRA CREST.

* WINDS: SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST 15 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH.
RIDGE GUSTS UP TO 90 MPH.

* IMPACTS: POTENTIAL FOR NEAR WHITEOUT CONDITIONS DUE TO HEAVY
SNOW AND GUSTY WINDS ESPECIALLY IN HIGHER ELEVATIONS. CHAIN
CONTROLS AND TRAVEL DELAYS ARE LIKELY ACROSS THE LAKE TAHOE
BASIN AND OVER ALL MAJOR MOUNTAIN PASSES.
