The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office is applying for an Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) Law Enforcement Grant through the California State Parks OHV Division. The grant is for $74,954 and will provide OHV law enforcement patrols in Nevada County. The areas in Western Nevada
County to be patrolled will include Greenhorn Creek, Steephollow Creek, Chalk Bluff, Deadman’s Flat, Jackass Flat, the Town of Washington and the Bowman Lake areas. Patrols conducted along the Highway 20 and Interstate 80 corridor will include Bear Valley, Indian
Springs and Rattlesnake Mountain. Patrols in Eastern Nevada County will be conducted at Meadow Lake, Boca Reservoir, Prosser Hills Prosser Pits and Little Truckee Summit areas.

The Off Highway Vehicle Grant application will be available for online viewing and public comments on March 7th, 2011 at http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/. A link to this site will be available through the Sheriff’s Website at www.mynevadacounty.com/sheriff .

The grant application will also be available for viewing at the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office at 950 Maidu Ave, Nevada City, or the Truckee Substation at 10879 Donner Pass Rd. Truckee.
