A rock and mud slide occurred this afternoon covering Rock Creek road approximately 4 miles from its intersection with Highway 193. The slide effects a 250 foot section of Rock Creek Road and is estimated to be 40 feet in depth. At this time there have been no reports of injuries as a result of this slide.

The County of El Dorado Department of Transportation has made a preliminary assessment of the slide material and estimates the closure will be in effect for at least the next 48 hours.
