Update: Missing Person Unfortunately Found Deceasded

March 4, 2011, at 10:30 AM, El Dorado County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue volunteers located the missing person approximately 200-300 yards north of her residence down a very steep embankment. Unfortunately, she was located deceased from what appears to be hypothermia. Darlene had been missing approximately 37 hours. During the time she was missing day and night time temperatures were low and precipitation was present.

Darlene Marie Newman was last seen on March 2nd approximately 9 PM at her Placerville residence located on Fall Trail Lane. Darlene’s vehicle was located approximately 300 yards from her residence on the shoulder of the road and wedged against a rock. It appears Darlene was driving the vehicle down the driveway veered off the road and collided into the rock. At this time it is believed Darlene walked away from the vehicle and is somewhere in the immediate area. Sheriff deputies called in Hangtown Hank a man-trailing bloodhound to search the area. In addition, Search and Rescue volunteers are being called out to assist in the search. Darlene is described as a white female adult 48 years of age. She is 5 foot tall, weights 110 pounds, brown eyes and brown hair. If you have information regarding the missing person please contact the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office.
