Public Comment Period Open: Neighborhood Stabilization Program 3 (NSP3) Application

Washoe County is eligible to receive $1,735,918 from the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development for the purpose of stabilizing neighborhoods that are experiencing high rates of foreclosure. The county has successfully partnered with other local jurisdictions to help bring $25 million in similar grants to the region from the NSP1 and 2 programs. However, the NSP3 program is the first time Washoe County will be receiving these funds directly and will be directly responsible for the development of the program that will utilize these funds.

The application for these funds is known as an Action Plan. The proposed action plan must be posted for 15 days for public comment prior to being submitted to HUD for review. The 15 day period for public comment will run through the end of February 2011. The action plan will be submitted to HUD on March 1, 2011 (the deadline for submission). If you have comments, questions or concerns about the proposed program, please contact:
