Minden, NV…On Saturday, February 12, 2011 at about 9:30 p.m. Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a 911 call at a residence on Rubio Way in the Gardnerville Ranchos for a report of a man with a gun.

Upon arrival, the reporting party stated that his girlfriend, a Hispanic female adult, had been kidnapped at gunpoint by a Hispanic male adult. The suspect reportedly fled the scene with the victim in a maroon mini-van.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. deputies located the suspect vehicle in the parking lot of the Minden Walmart. The suspect was taken into custody and a firearm was recovered. The female victim was located in the suspect’s vehicle, apparently unharmed.

The investigation is currently ongoing.
