Truckee, CA…Day Two of the Giant Slalom Junior Olympic Qualifier is in the record books and it was a great one. Northstar at Tahoe played gracious host for another great day of ski racing. Close to 200 athletes with big dreams and ski racing in their blood ran lap after lap. Saturday’s courses were more technical and rewarded the skiers who thrived on courses that rewarded taking the perfect line gate after gate. Friday’s courses were more wide open and rewarded those who could carry the most speed.

The podium’s today belonged to Squaw Valley. Erik Arvidsson repeated his win from Friday and on Sunday he will see if he can Threepeat. First year J-3 Stephanie Lebby put on an impressive show in taking the win for the girls. You could tell she was ready to race as in the starting gate she was literally jumping up and down in her skies in the starting gate before she exploded down the course.
