Woman Transported to Barton After Distress in Lake Tahoe

Lake Tahoe, CA/NV…Marine 17 is officially on the water. While out training , a dispatch came out for a female about 1000’ off the beach and in distress. They successfully pulled the hypothermic swimmer out of the water. She was transported to Barton.

 

Be safe swimming in the early season. Hypothermia can occur in water below 70 degrees. Tahoe is rarely over 70 even in late summer. Be safe. Wear a life jacket. Swing by any of our stations to grab a loaner if you need one.
