South Lake Tahoe, CA…In late April, Officer Simon investigated a burglary in which a credit card was stolen. The suspect then used the stolen credit card nine times.

Officer Simon identified the suspect as Jose Angel Gutierrez, 51, of South Lake Tahoe. Officer Simon was able to locate and arrest Gutierrez. He was booked into jail for burglary, forgery, and nine counts of identity theft.

SLTPD takes identity theft cases seriously and will continue its pursuit of those who commit it.
