Washoe County, NV…Washoe County Sheriff Balaam and Chief Deputy O’Connor took part in the graduation ceremony for the spring Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) academy this past weekend. The 12 graduates learned valuable skills for disaster preparedness including light search and rescue, disaster medical operations and team organization. The skills learned could assist neighbors or co-workers following a local disaster when first responders may not be immediately available to assist. Congratulations to all and thank you for your dedication to helping our community!
