Markleeville, CA…The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will conduct operations this week on State Route 4 and delays are expected. Work will be conducted as follows: Route 4 • There will not be a full closure of Route 4 this week from Wheeler Lake Trail to Highland Lake Road for drainage work, as indicated in last week’s traffic advisories for Alpine County.
However, one-way traffic control will be employed from Wheeler Lake Trail to Highland Lake Road for drainage work through Thursday, September 16, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 17, 2021.
Motorists should expect 10- minute delays and take alternate routes if possible.
Work is scheduled to begin as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or materials and construction related issues.
