The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division investigated a report of a possible sexual assault and lewdness of a child under the age of 14. Detectives initiated the investigation on Thursday, January 20, when they were called to an unidentified location in Sparks, Nevada. The victim advised Detective Investigators that she had been touched inappropriately by a relative over the course of several years.

The victim identified her relative as Javier Gonzalez, age 55 and a Sparks resident. Detectives took Gonzalez into custody after they were able to corroborate what the victim had told them pertaining to his acts committed since approximately 2009.

Javier Gonzalez was arrested, transported, and booked into the Washoe County Detention Facility without incident. Javier Gonzalez was charged with four felony counts of Sexual Assault with a Child under the age of 14 and four felony counts of Lewdness with a Child under the age of 14. His bail is set at $120,000.
