Governor Sisolak Appoints DuAne Young as Policy Director for Governor’s Office

Carson City, NV…Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak announced the appointment of DuAne Young as Policy Director for the Governor’s Office, effective Monday, June 28, 2021.  “It is with great pride that I welcome DuAne Young as our new Policy Director,” said Governor Sisolak. “He brings extensive years of experience and knowledge from his previous leadership roles within state government, which will make him an excellent fit for this crucial role.”
 

Young previously served at the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services where he led several key leadership roles including: Deputy Administrator of Medical Programs and Community Based Services, Deputy Administrator of Clinical Services, Chief III, Behavioral Health and Pharmacy Services, Health and Policy Analyst, and Tobacco Prevention and Control Program Coordinator.

In total, Young carries over 14 years of experience working in State government- 6 of which come from serving within the State of Nevada. Young also brings to this role several years of leadership experience in the private sector, including serving as being the Vice President of Special Projects for The Change Companies.

Young obtained his Bachelor of Science from Miami University, a Masters from Wesleyan University, and has completed coursework toward a Doctor of Education (Ed.D) in Organizational Leadership from Indiana Wesleyan University.

This position was most recently held by Heather Korbulic who served as Interim Policy Director for the Governor’s Office through the end of the 2021 Legislative session. Following the legislative session, she returned to her role as Executive Director of Silver State Health Insurance Exchange, a role she has served since September 2016.
