Search & Rescue, Law Enforcement & Emergency Services Teams Combing Chimney Beach area for Missing Man (Update…Body Recovered)

Incline Village, NV…Update…Last night HASTY rescue divers found a man’s body submerged in Lake Tahoe off Chimney Beach. The man fits the description of Xavier Olivas, who crews searched for in excess of five hours.
The official identification, cause and manner of death will be confirmed by the Medical Examiner.

Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue, HASTY, WCSAR, Marine 9, WCSO Deputy Sheriffs, Carson City Sheriff deputies, North Lake Tahoe Fire and members of the Coast Guard are combing Chimney Beach and Lake Tahoe waters for a missing man.

Shortly before 1:00 this afternoon Xavier Olivas, 69, reportedly jumped off a boat in the water with intentions to swim to shore. He hasn’t been seen since. Olivas, from Yucca Valley, California was last seen wearing red shorts and a silver chain. He stands 5 ‘ 9” and weighs 150 pounds.
