Las Vegas, NV…Today, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak delivered a sweet, refreshing treat to students at Harvey N. Dondero Elementary School in Clark County to thank the students who are participating in the CCSD Summer Acceleration program and encourage them to continue their studies in their summer school session. The Governor also highlighted the recently signed Senate Bill 173, also called the Back on Track Act, which is aimed at helping school districts address learning loss created during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Education remains a top priority for me, and I’m so glad that in my first two legislative sessions as Governor, we have been able to work together collaboratively to make historic investments and improvements in our K-12 education system,” Gov Sisolak said. “I was so glad to sign legislation earlier this month so that we can all remain laser focused on making sure our students are moving ahead and thriving. I’m confident that the proactive steps taken to help students address learning loss created during the pandemic will help them get back on the path to success.”
The Governor was joined by State Superintendent of Instruction Jhone Ebert, Clark County School District Superintendent Jesus Jara, Senator Marilyn Dondero Loop, Senator Dallas Harris and Assemblywoman Tracy Brown-May.
