South Lake Tahoe, CA… El Dorado County, the United States Forest Service and Placer County are working jointly on a project to pave the existing Rubicon Trail staging area (parking lot), located approximately 1.5 miles west of Evergreen Way near Tahoma. The work is being completed with grants funds made available through the State of California Off Highway Vehicle Recreation Division. The paving of the existing parking lot will provide an overall water quality benefit to the area. The contractor that will pave the staging area will also complete repairs to McKinney Rubicon Springs Road between Evergreen Way and the staging area. The work is anticipated to start mid-June to be completed before July 1st, 2021. An updated project schedule will be released in early June, 2021.
