Carson City, CA…The Nevada Board of Examiners (BOE), which Governor Steve Sisolak chairs, approved the State’s first collective bargaining agreement with the Nevada State Law Enforcement Officers’ Association (NSLEOA). Certain state employees were granted the right to organize and collectively bargain during the 2019 Legislative Session. The process, as outlined in Nevada Revised Statutes, requires the ratified agreement to be approved by the Board of Examiners before the economic provisions go to the Legislature for approval.
The agreement was approved by the BOE Tuesday morning.
“I want to thank the Department of Administration and the union representatives for their dedicated and hard work through this process to bring forward an agreement to the Board,” Gov. Sisolak said. “Collective Bargaining has allowed for State employees to have a larger seat at the table and I’m proud to see the first agreement approved and on its way to the Legislature.”
Today’s agreement is the first of four the State has been negotiating following the passage of SB 135 in the 2019 Legislative Session.
