Placerville, CA…The El Dorado County Board of Supervisors today unanimously appointed Joseph Carruesco as the County’s Director of Human Resources, effective May 22, 2020. Mr. Carruesco served as assistant Director of Human Resources from November 2020-March 2021, after which he became interim Director.
“I’m honored to continue the forward progress the County has made with respect to its employees and unions to ensure that each employee has the opportunity to contribute to the County’s Gold Standard of Service to our residents,” Carruesco said.
Carruesco comes to the position with more than ten years of experience in the Human Resources (HR) field, having served as HR manager and director for the Superior Courts of Contra Costa County and Sacramento County where he was actively engaged in employee and labor relations, training, payroll and benefits, workers’ compensation, recruitment, mediation and arbitration, and classification and compensation efforts.
“It is my distinguished honor to congratulate Joey Carruesco on his succession to the Director of Human Resources assignment,” said Board Chair John Hidahl. “Joey brings over 20 years of HR experience in the private sector combined with several years of experience in the public sector which will serve our County very well. Carruesco holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from San Diego State University, a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification and a Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI).
Mr. Carruesco will receive an annual salary of $156,936.
