Incline Village, NV…The Winter Weather Watch, Lake Wind Warning & Detailed forecasts for the Greater Lake Tahoe Area from the National Weather Service in Reno.  Tonight, Slight chance of rain and snow in the evening, then snow and rain likely after midnight. Snow accumulation up to 2 inches with 1 to 3 inches above 7000 feet. Lows 27 to 37. Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph. Gusts up to 45 mph decreasing to 30 mph after midnight. Ridge gusts up to 80 mph.

Snow in the morning, then snow showers and slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Snow accumulation of 1 to 4 inches with 1 to 5 inches above 7000 feet. Highs 37 to 47. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Ridge gusts up to 60 mph in the morning.

Snow showers likely and slight chance of thunderstorms in the evening, then chance of snow showers after midnight. Snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches. Lows 19 to 29. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph.

...LAKE WIND ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM SATURDAY TO
3 AM PDT SUNDAY...

* CHANGES...None.

* WHAT...Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph
  expected. Wave heights 2 to 4 feet.

* WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area.

* WHEN...From 5 AM Saturday to 3 AM PDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone
  to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until
  conditions improve.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Lake conditions will be hazardous all
  weekend. Heavy snow will arrive late Saturday night and
  continue through Sunday. Plan ahead for any travel in the
  Tahoe Basin.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Check lake conditions before heading out and be prepared for a
sudden increase in winds and wave heights. Consider postponing
boating activities on the lake until a day with less wind.

5 AM PDT MONDAY...

* CHANGES...None.

* WHAT...Snow expected. Accumulations of 2 to 6 inches possible
  at Lake Tahoe level with 6 to 12 inches above 7000 feet. Along
  the Sierra Crest, 12 to 18 inches is possible. Winds could gust
  up to 45 mph in the lower elevations with gusts up to 80 mph
  along the Sierra Crest.

* WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area.

* WHEN...From 3 AM Sunday to 5 AM PDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Gusty winds and
  heavy, wet, dense snow could bring down tree branches.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Bursts of rapid snow accumulations and
  thunder is possible Sunday. If heading into the backcountry,
  gear- up for winter.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Even light snowfall causes major travel delays, especially during
periods of high traffic volume. Be sure to allow extra time to
reach your destination. Leave extra space between vehicles since
it takes longer to stop on slick roadways.
