Truckee, CA…From the Truckee Police Dept…”04/19/2021 We would like to provide updated information regarding the incident that occurred on Wednesday April 14th, 2021. The victim, identified as 25 year-old Justin “Shuba” Ardagh, has died at the hospital as a result of the injuries sustained at the scene of the incident.

This is still an active investigation and our detectives are following up with several witnesses to obtain statements. We have seen a number of comments suggesting that the event has not been depicted correctly. We want to encourage anyone who has information or witnessed the incident to please come forward and talk to our detectives.

On Wednesday April 14th at approximately 10:30 PM, officers were dispatched to an unconscious person in the roadway in downtown Truckee. The victim was located with a severe head injury and immediately transported to the hospital. During the course of the investigation, officers discovered a vehicle collision resulted in the injury. Officers located the suspected involved vehicle a short time later. The driver was contacted and arrested for felony driving under the influence and felony hit and run.
