South Lake Tahoe, CA- The community is invited to a webinar to review the City’s draft Climate Action Plan (CAP).
The City of South Lake Tahoe has completed its draft CAP and is in the midst of the public review period. This CAP is critical for reducing emissions in the region and will also provide benefits to the community through supporting local economic development, improving wildfire resilience, reducing air pollution, improving traffic conditions, and improving public health and quality of life.
“We all have to work together to ensure the health and safety of Tahoe’s future,” said Meredith Anderson with the Sierra Nevada Alliance, “This Climate Action Plan is the first step in ensuring we are all working together for the health of our environment, and to keep Tahoe safe.”
During the final stage of the CAP development process, the City is holding a public webinar as an opportunity for members of the South Lake Tahoe community to learn more about what is included in the CAP, what the rest of the development process will look like, how the CAP will be implemented, and how the City’s progress related to the CAP will be monitored. There will be time allotted for community members to ask questions and provide feedback.
The public webinar will be held from 5:00-6:00pm on Wednesday, September 9th. Details and the meeting link are located on the City’s CAP website. All South Lake Tahoe community members are welcome. We look forward to seeing you there!
