South Lake Tahoe, CA…On Monday, South Lake Tahoe Police responded to a report of a single car collision in the 800 block of Los Angeles Ave. When Police got there, they found the driver, 33-year-old Victor Alfonso Ramos Eucendo. They said, Ramos Eucendo, was driving his Chevrolet Silverado, intoxicated, on Los Angeles Ave when he hit a parked car and a bear box. When he was arrested for DUI, Officers found a loaded Norinco Mak-90 assault rifle (AK-47 variant) with a loaded high capacity 30 round magazine. Officers also found meth on Ramos Eucendo.
Ramos Eucendo told police he was on his way to confront a drug dealer about a fight over a different time when he hit a parked car. Who he was going to confront and where that confrontation was supposed to take place is still under investigation. How he obtained the assault rifle is also still under investigation.
Ramos Eucendo told police he had ties to MS-13 when he lived in Central America and is a current member of the Sureno’s street gang.
Ramos Eucendo was booked into the El Dorado County Jail on charges of Illegal possession of an assault weapon, carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle, DUI, and possession of a controlled substance. SLTPD will be requesting charges for possession of a high capacity magazine to be added at time of arraignment.
