Tahoe Women’s Services is committed to reducing the incidence and trauma of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse in the North Lake Tahoe and Truckee communities.
We believe that every person has the right to live a life free of violence and abuse. Prevention, intervention and treatment are integral components of all our programs. In addition, we support the personal growth of individuals moving through crisis to self-sufficiency by providing a “safety net” for such needs as emergency shelter, food, clothing, transportation and energy assistance.
Begun in 1982 as a grass roots effort, Tahoe Women’s Services was incorporated in 1985 as an independent non-profit agency
