Sam Slack has been named the chief operating executive for both Resorts West and Resorts Investment Capital. A hospitality veteran with 33 years of resort, real estate and executive leadership experience, Slack, 58, plays a vital leadership role on-site overseeing all aspects of both companies and is currently the broker for Resorts West. He joined Resorts West in 1988 as assistant resort manager for several operational departments and has held progressively expanded positions with the company including director of operations, vice president, and senior vice president and general manager prior to his current duties. Slack graduated with a master degree in Physical Education from Northern Arizona University in 1985.
Steven Wilhite, 62, president of Resort Investment Capital, manages all sales and marketing aspects of the Resorts West Vacation Club memberships, and serves as project broker for the company. Wilhite’s real estate career began with Century 21, after graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 1978. Wilhite moved to Lake Tahoe and became senior vice president of sales and marketing for The Ridge Tahoe resort, resulting in a complete sell-out of all vacation ownership condominiums in 1999. The Vacation Club was established in 2008 and Wilhite continues to lead and work directly with the owners and members of the club to provide memorable travel experiences.
Kathleen Shoda, vice president and recently appointed general manager for Resorts West, is responsible for the day-to-day operations of The Ridge Resorts and the on-site Resorts West profit centers. Shoda, 59, joined the company in 2013 with responsibility for all guest services and advanced from assistant resort manager through director of operations to her current role. Shoda came to Lake Tahoe in 1994 with executive level experience and held management positions at Paradise Timeshare Resale, Americana Vacation Club and Stardust Vacation Club before joining Resorts West. She currently sits on the Tahoe Village Homeowners Association Board of Directors.
