South Lake Tahoe, CA…On May 13th, South Lake Tahoe Police Officers responded to the intersection of Lake Tahoe Blvd and Takela Blvd for a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a bicyclist. The bicyclist was transported by medical personnel, but was later pronounced deceased. The driver of the vehicle did not sustain any life threatening injuries. Alcohol/drug use does not appear to be a factor. The cause of the collision is still under investigation. The identity of the bicyclist is being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.

As summer approaches, the amount of traffic increases within the city of South Lake Tahoe. Because of the increased traffic, The South Lake Tahoe Police Department would like to remind motorist and cyclist to travel with the utmost safety and to always be aware of your surroundings.
