Test your home for radon – and win!: January is National Radon Action Month, and in recognition of that, University of Nevada Cooperative Extension and its partners are sponsoring a “Test Your Home for Radon and Win” contest for residents of Douglas, Carson City and Washoe counties. Homeowners can qualify to win a $1,500 credit toward a radon mitigation system simply by testing their homes with a free radon test kit provided by Cooperative Extension. To qualify for the contest, homeowners must complete a radon test between Dec. 1, 2010 and Feb. 28, 2011, using a radon test kit provided by the Nevada Radon Education Program.
