South Lake Tahoe, CA…This afternoon, at around 4:15pm, South Lake Tahoe Police Department assisted Mendocino County Sheriff’s Detectives in locating and arresting a murder suspect from their jurisdiction. Because the murder investigation remains open and is the jurisdiction of the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office, details of the offense will not be released by SLTPD.

SLTPD detectives became aware that the murder suspect, 32 year old Jesse Cole Wells, was residing on Conestoga Avenue in South Lake Tahoe. An active arrest warrant already existed for Jesse Wells, charging him with murder in Mendocino County. Detectives coordinated with Mendocino County investigators and were granted a search warrant for the residence in South Lake Tahoe.

The SLTPD SWAT team was activated due to the violent crime involved and the high risk nature of the arrest. Officers located and arrested Jesse Wells without incident. He has been booked into the El Dorado County Jail in South Lake Tahoe. The arrest warrant set a bail amount $650,000.
