South Lake Tahoe,CA…During a continued search effort, an SLTPD Detective located Daniel Trevis at 9:26 this morning. Trevis was found on Park Avenue, wrapped in a blanket, less than a mile from his residence. Trevis was awake, and alert, but was very cold. Investigators have contacted Trevis’ son, and are currently arranging for a medical evaluation for Trevis to ensure he is examined and alright. SLTPD would like to thank our public for their assistance.

Previously Released Earlier This Morning:
Daniel Trevis is currently missing. He is considered at risk because he a 75 years old, suffers from dementia, and because we are currently experiencing a severe snow storm. Trevis is a white male approximately 5’3″ tall, weighing 135 lbs, with green or hazel eyes and white shoulder length hair. Trevis has a white beard. Trevis wears dentures and glasses. Trevis may be wearing an orange jacket, black pants, and a black and white baseball cap. We are asking for the public’s help to locate Daniel Trevis.

Daniel Trevis’ adult son, Henry Smart, reported his father missing to SLTPD just before 4:00 this morning (Thursday, January 19, 2017). Trevis lives with Smart on Pine Boulevard, near the California/Nevada state line in South Lake Tahoe. Trevis has a tendency to wander from their residence. His son was away from their residence during the late afternoon and most of the night. When Smart returned to their shared residence, he discovered Trevis missing and called the police.

Henry Smart and investigating officers have checked with neighbors and all of Trevis’ most customary local destinations, but he has not yet been found. When Trevis wanders, he typically remains around the business areas of Highway 50, between Pioneer Trail in South Lake Tahoe, and the casino corridor in Stateline, Nevada. Thus far, investigators have located only one recent photograph of Daniel Trevis, which is attached to this news release.
