Olympic Valley, CA…January is Learn to Ski & Ride Month, and Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows will be celebrating with special offers tailored for beginner skiers and snowboarders age 13 and above. On January 6, 2017, Alpine Meadows will join 75 other resorts across the United States and Canada in hosting the Guinness World Records event for the largest ski and snowboard lesson ever taught. About 6,000 people took part in last year’s record attempt in the U.S. but the documentation was not quite sufficient to set the Guinness World Record. This year, with Canadian resorts joining in, the World’s Largest Lesson is expected to host even more participants and set the official record. For the Alpine Meadows event, the first 25 beginner skiers and the first 25 beginner snowboarders to register receive a free lesson, including a beginner lift ticket and rental equipment.

Registration for The World’s Largest Lesson at Alpine Meadows begins at 8 a.m. at the second level of the Alpine Meadows Main Lodge. The first 25 beginner level skiers and the first 25 beginner level snowboarders over the age of 13 will receive the 2.25-hour lesson for free, including a beginner lift ticket and equipment rentals. All other guests will receive a $99 package deal including the lesson, beginner lift ticket and equipment rentals. The lesson at Alpine Meadows will begin promptly at 10 a.m. PST as lessons all across the U.S. and Canada will be taught simultaneously in seven different time zones.

Alpine Meadows will continue to offer the $99 Learn to Ski and Ride Special for ages 13+ on weekdays for the entire 2016-17 season. Similar to the World’s Largest Lesson package available on January 6th, the Learn to Ski and Ride Package includes a lesson, beginner lift ticket and rental equipment.
