Hawthorne, NV…It was a shaky and rattly night for many in Northern Nevada and California last night. When we initially reported on it last night the first quake near Hawthorne registered at 5.8. A few minutes later they had dropped to 5.7 followed by another 5.7 a few minutes later. This was followed an hour or so later with another one at 5.5 on the Richter scale. As of this writing there have been over 30 aftershocks in the area as well.

The USGS Shaker map which indicates where people reported feeling the quakes showed that folks from Bakersfield to the Oregon border indicated they felt the shaking.
