South Lake Tahoe,CA/NV…Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce (Tahoe Chamber) is pleased to announce the first Connect for a Cause Charity Mixer of 2017 which will take place on Thursday, January 12 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Riva Grill. This annual Charity Mixer benefits an important local charity with proceeds going to Bread & Broth.

This year’s Connect for a Cause Charity Mixer will help to replenish Bread & Broth’s B&B 4 Kids meal program. This program provides weekend food bags to over 150 students in grades K-8. Guests of the event are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items. The B&B 4 Kids program is specifically looking for canned spaghetti and meatballs, beef ravioli, stew and chili, tuna; mac n’ cheese instant cups, chicken noodle and vegetable soups, and fruit and applesauce packets. Bring any of these items to be entered in a raffle to win the evening’s door prize, a two-night stay at Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel.

“Hunger never takes a holiday,” said Carol Gerard, Bread & Broth Interim Director. “Thanks to the generous and on-going support of the Tahoe Chamber and the Lake Tahoe South Shore community, Bread & Broth is able to help those who struggle with hunger by providing two weekly hot meals and weekend food for K-8 students throughout the school year.”

In addition to the door prize, raffle tickets will be available for purchase. This year’s raffle prizes include an Emerald Bay sightseeing cruise aboard the MS Dixie ll, a 2017 CALSTAR membership, Summit to Shore chiropractic treatment, and gift certificates to Artemis Lakefront Café, Lakeside Inn and Casino, Overland Meat & Seafood Company and much more.

This event also offers attendees relationship building opportunities, a photo booth provided by Lauren Lindley, as well as delicious appetizers and drinks including the Riva Grill’s famous Wet Woody.

Riva Grill is located in South Lake Tahoe at 900 Ski Run Boulevard. A minimum $20 donation for members and $30 for aspiring members is required of all Connect for Cause Charity Mixer attendees. Guests will receive one drink ticket and two raffle tickets with admission.
